π₯π₯ Wars are over, yet they leave a lot of hurt and consequences including the losing a loved one and physical disabilities, etc. In addition, there still is the landmine problem:
πΉ 100 million landmines worldwide left over from previous conflicts. Each year, landmines kill or maim 15,000 to 20,000 people β one in five of them children.
πΉ Mines can stay active, and deadly, for up to 5 decades, so finding and clearing them is critical
πΉ It would take 1100 years to clear all the landmines with hand-held metal detectors
πBut local citizens, unable to afford massive mine detonating machines, use ineffective and dangerous methods to detect the landmines, such as: poking the ground with long sticks, training dogs or rats to sniff out explosives.
πFrom Kambria Community, we want to take action, to co-create landmine robots with the goal to heal the world because we believe that β Alone we can do so little, together we can do so muchβ
